Our vision with Birdsong Studios is to host intimate gatherings and experiences for guests seeking rest, rejuvenation and renewal. Our Bird's Nest micro-suite is in the same building as Birdsong Studios. It offers everything you need for a short or extended stay.
We would be happy to build in an art experience as part of your stay. Or, if you just want space to create on your own, we can provide 24-7 access to the studio.
Location, Location, Location
It is said that location is everything. Birdsong Studios is located in the heart of downtown High River. A short walk away are myriad shops and restaurants. We are also located just a few minutes drive to a wide selection of larger chain stores including Canadian Tire, Co-op, and No Frills. With only a 25 minute drive to the south end of Calgary, less than an hour to the Calgary International Airport, and only an hour and a half to the Canmore/ Banff area with Alberta’s glorious Rocky Mountains, our Birdsong Retreat space in High River is a centrally located home away from home for your next southern Alberta adventure.
For visitors who are visual artists, you will be invited to use Birdsong Studio as much as you like. It is a n inviting creative space with lots of light and several spare easels. If you’re an aspiring artist and want to experience the wonder of painting, ask about arranging a workshop during your stay or some one-on-one painting and mentoring time with our resident artists.
The Bird's Nest - micro suite
Our Bird's Nest is located in the heart of downtown High River and features a private entrance, Murphy bed, European style kitchen, full bath and a vibe that is peaceful and welcoming.
Whether you want a short stay or extended visit, the Bird's Next will feel like a home away from home.
Birdsong Studios
Birdsong Studiosis a working studio that is open almost every day. As a retreat guest you are welcome to use this space as much or as little as you like. Russell and Heather are active and approachable artists who enjoy the energy and inspiration that comes with having fellow creatives in the space.
